We started Saturday with an early lunch at Fritz's Cafe. It's a cute little place where trains deliver your food! First you sit down at your table, then you pick up the phone to order your food. Then the train brings your food!
My little engineers.
Here's the train that brings your food. The train tracks are up high all around the cafe. The kitchen staff puts your box of food on the train and then it goes for a ride. When the train gets to your table, it drops off the box of food for you! The boys were so excited to watch the trains while we were eating!
Our next stop was the SeaLife Aquarium It was a pretty cool aquarium. It had a touch tank, lots of fish, a glass floor over the sting rays, a big tunnel to walk through, and a quiz to help the kids learn! Here are the boys doing one of the quiz stations. There were stations throughout the aquarium. You had to scratch off the answer on your card, then at the end you received a prize. It was a great way to force the kids to learn a little bit. Anything for a prize!
Some of the animals. Jackson was so excited about the catfish. He wanted to catch them. My little fisherman!
The boys and I in various bubbles and tunnels.
The glass floor overlooking some rays.
Next we stopped by a store called Kaleidoscope. It's a super cool place that has the supplies to make all sorts of little crafts. You could paint, color, make cards, make puzzles, and they had a black room where you could paint with melted crayon and use flourescent markers! It was so fun! The boys really enjoyed making puzzles and painting. To make puzzles you first color a little piece of white cardboard. Then you put it in the puzzle machine and turn the big wheel...it was hard work!
Then it comes out of the machine as a puzzle!
Cool hand washing station.
Watching our finished paint products coming out of the dryer.
We ended the day at my cousins house for dinner. We were fortunate that all my cousins were able to make it to dinner at the last minute! Unfortunately my Aunt and Uncle were out of town, but that just means we'll have to go back for a visit! Here are all the kids climbing on my cousin, Mike.
Jackson is so proud that he stole Mike's hat.
There were lots of crazy kids there...and mostly boys! I just looked it up and my cousins kids are my first cousins, once removed. They are second cousins to my kids. It's so confusing. Here's what I read if you're interested. :) www.genealogy.com/16_cousn.html
