We started Friday out at LEGOLAND. We weren't really sure what to expect, but it was pretty cool. The first thing you do is learn how they make legos. The boys didn't really care about that part too much. It was fun to see how tall they are in legos, and how much they weigh in legos.
Then we went upstairs and the boys were in heaven. They had a couple of rides. One was shooting all the bad guys...I don't have any pictures because I was busy shooting! The other ride was a typical carnival ride, but Jackson loved it!
There was a 4D movie. It's basically a 3D movie, but when the fire hose points at you, you actually get wet! I wasn't expecting that! LOL. It was fun to see the boys watch the movie though. They were both reaching out trying to touch the characters etc. It was hilarious! There was also a part where you could build your own race car and race them on the tracks. They had an indoor playground area, and lots of little lego boxes to build stuff (imagine a sand box, but filled with legos!) There were a couple other stations that were pink and purple, so we passed them right up. I think one was a bakery and one had princess stuff. My boys weren't interested in that. :)
They had a whole replica of Kansas City built out of legos. Every 10 minutes or so they would dim the lights in this area, and you could see the buildings all lit up. It was pretty cool. They had all the stadiums, and they were very detailed...with fans and everything! Although, every time I've been to the Royals stadium, most of the fans were wearing red. Maybe they should update that! They had a mini Wizard of Oz section too. Follow the yellow brick road to Emerald City!
After LEGOLAND and lunch, we caught an afternoon brewery tour at the Boulevard Brewery.
The boys were checking out the bottling room.
I thought this was a cool sign. Jackson was being silly.
Mommy by most of the samples we tasted.
Dylan was having fun playing photographer. He actually takes some good shots, and plays with zooming and focusing. Maybe I have a future photographer on my hands.
At some point during the day I was hiding in a family restroom, feeding Trevor and the boys found a Curious George Exhibit.
Trevor and I by a fountain. After all, KC is the City of Fountains.
