Bananas!

Trevor tried bananas today...he wasn't too sure about them.  They may have been too sweet for him.  :)
Yum!
Oh, not so yum.
Why are you still feeding me this stuff???
He kept making that face people make when they eat sour candy.  He had the whole body shake with it too.  :)
Such a trooper!  Love this kid.
P.S.  Every time I spell bananas now, I totally sing that Gwen Stefani song.  You know you do too.  ;)

Fenton Days and Parade

We were all so excited to go to the Fenton parade today!  I made sure we left the house early enough to swing by Krispy Kreme to get donuts and still make it to the parade route about an hour before the parade to get a parking spot and a good spot for our blanket.  I like to be towards the beginning of the parade, because the people in the parade aren't as tired and are more excited to give out their goodies.  We were about 55 minutes early.  LOL  Seriously, there was hardly anyone at the parade.  But the boys got lots of fun stuff!  Here are some highlights of the parade and of us goofing off while we wait for the parade!

Daddy found Trevor's ticklish spot!

When the parade was over Dylan said "That's it?  Where's the rest of the parade???"  He's used to the St. Patrick's Day parade which is much bigger than the Fenton parade.  :)  After the parade, we went to Old Towne Fenton to celebrate Fenton Days.  The boys had a blast sharing sno cones, popping bubbles from the bubble bus and sitting in a firetruck!
So curious about the bubbles.
Bubble hands!

Crazy Bubbles!

Dylan is in 1st Grade!

I can't believe I have a first grader!  He was so nervous about going to school...but not because it was a new year/new class etc.  He was worried that his friends were going to laugh at him because of his ear.  Bless his little heart.  He was also nervous about walking and recess time.  He made sure that I told the teachers he couldn't play at recess and that he couldn't walk fast...only medium.  Love this kid.  Turns out, all his worries were for nothing.  He said no one laughed at him, but instead were interested in seeing his ear.  And his new teacher was more than willing to let him walk 'medium.'  As for recess, his teacher suggested he bring his DS, and he could play it in the office until he's allowed to play outside.  Talk about getting on his good side!

My nervous boy.
Grant, Dylan and Jackson.  Yes, it's August and my boys are wearing jackets.  :)

Rice Cereal!

Trevor had rice cereal for the first time today. He did great!  He has always put everything in his mouth, and was excited to have something new to put in his mouth!  After the first few bites, he figured out how to swallow the rice cereal too, as opposed to just pushing it out of his mouth with his tongue.  :)
Getting ready to eat rice cereal!
Blowing raspberries!

He loves it!

My BRAVE Dylan

Jackson has my dimples and Trevor has my eyes.  Dylan has my ears, which is not a good thing.  He has moderate hearing loss in his right ear and mild hearing loss in his left ear.  Luckily, it is nothing permanent, but it is highly annoying and frustrating for everyone.  He had the first surgery out of at least three this past week. It was the first step to correcting his hearing.  This surgery was to repair the hole in his right ear drum and remove some skin that had grown in his middle ear.  (there's not supposed to be any skin in your middle ear.)  The Dr. was also going to be able to get a good look inside Dylan's ear to see what else is going on.  What was supposed to be a 45 minute to 1 hour surgery, ended up being 5 hours long.  Once they go into his right ear, they found all sorts of complications.  They were able to fix what they intended to fix, and are now more able to be prepped for the future surgeries.  He'll have to replace some bones that have deteriorated in order for his hearing to improve.  While Dylan was under, the doctor was also able to get a good look in his left ear and saw that we will have to replace at least one bone in that ear as well.  Dylan has a long road ahead of him, but he has been so brave.  He has a high pain tolerance (like his mom!) and has only needed Tylenol since we left the hospital.  He has complained a little bit about being dizzy (which is expected) and he says his neck hurts (which I think is because he's nervous to move his head, so it's getting stiff).  He's loving the Dr.'s orders of watching movies and playing his Nintendo DS.  :)  Here he is, looking like a Dr., dressed in his scrubs for surgery.
Feeling a little relaxed after some special medicine.
All wrapped up after surgery.

Jackson's first day of school!

Jackson started his afternoon speech program today.  The bus picks him up and drops him off at daycare, which he loves.  He does so well with it, and loves his teachers.  He's one very lucky little boy!

St. Paul's Soccer Tournament

St. Paul's soccer tournament started last weekend. Here's a few shots of Dylan during the game.  He's playing against his buddy, Aiden, in the first picture.

Owen just scored a goal!  It must be that blue mohawk!
The rest of us just tried to stay cool while we watched Dylan play!

Hot Air Balloons!

A couple of weeks ago, Jackson and I were driving down 141 and saw some hot air balloons.  We pulled over so we could watch them for awhile and get some pictures.  :)
Then last night I was giving the boys a bath, and Jackson said our balloons were outside the window!

Trevor is 4 Months!

It's hard to believe, but my littlest love is 4 months old already!  It's hard to remember what life was like before he joined us.  He has brought nothing but smiles and laughter to our family.  We're so lucky to have this little guy!
Neck?  What neck???
Trevor's tried lots of new things over the last week. He started rolling over from back to front, and then 2 days later, from front to back.  Then we found our toes...which are AMAZING.
We've also started using the exersaucer and the bumbo.  One he loves...one he's not so sure of.
I caught this moment on camera.  Jackson was showing Trevor one of his shows on the iPad.  :)  While I'm sure Trevor isn't ready for screen time, it was cute to see Jackson trying to be the good big brother.

Now that he rolls over, Trevor has lots and lots of tummy time.  He loves it!

We'll be starting rice cereal soon, so stay tuned!
