Christmas Day

Christmas morning began with Dylan opening his gifts. Once he opened Elmo, he was done. He is so obsessed with Elmo right now. We finally talked him into opening his other gifts and he decided opening presents could be fun! Plus, check out this cool new guitar! Now he can jam with Dad when they play Guitar Hero! (Notice the Elmo PJ's???!!!)
After brunch with MaMa, PaPa and David, we headed over to MiMi and G-Pa's. Dylan got a big wheel bike! He would not get off of it all night. The seat lifts up and his cup fits perfectly inside. He was even giving his cousins rides! (Although, he may not have volunteered to give them rides!!! He did it though, because he wasn't getting off that bike!!!)

Dylan giving Alexis and Mark a ride on his new bike.

What a whirlwind!

Every year I get so excited for Christmas to be here, and then, before I know it, it's over! It was great visiting with everyone. We started things off at Scott's parents house on Christmas Eve. Then we headed over to the big Haarmann Christmas Eve celebration. Dylan and Olivia were the stars of the show. It was Olivia's first Christmas! She was very serious about opening her gifts!
Family Pic...
Dylan saying cheeeeeeese! He gets so excited about anything with Elmo!
Here's Dylan showing Olivia how to play with her new toy.
I haven't decided what Dylan was doing here. It's possible that he was tired and resting on top of his new basketball hoop. But, it's also possible that he was trying to tell Olivia he was NOT going to share this toy with her!
Jackpot!!! Actually, for some reason Dylan was obsessed with ice all day on Christmas Eve. He kept going back to the coolers to get more ice! He's so weird sometimes!

I hope everyone has a safe, happy, Merry Christmas!

Olivia

While Dylan was taking a nap, Olivia was trying on the Santa hat. It was a little bit, and she didn't tolerate it for long, but I think this picture is adorable!

Dylan and Olivia

Yesterday Olivia came over to play with us! It was the first time that Dylan actually enjoyed having her around. Usually he just gives her evil looks when he sees her. Don't get me wrong, he did have his jealous moments, but for the most part they did very well playing together. Here he is trying to help me by feeding her!
They look like they are up to something....
They were holding hands. It was so sweet!
Olivia found his belly button! The most amazing part about this was that he was letting her!

ROAR!!!

So, here's a cute story. This weekend I was asking Dylan a question. I can't recall what the question was, but it doesn't matter. His answer was "NO!" (pretty common answer now a days!) I asked him, "Are you lying to me?" And he roared at me! All he heard was lion (lying) and so he roared! I couldn't help but laugh!

Holiday House

So, part of the joy of having kids is having an excuse to do all the fun things! Today Dylan and I made a Rice Krispie Treat Holiday House! (Basically a gingerbread house made out of rice krispie treats!) Dylan was so funny! He was pretending to be pouring the frosting and candies into the rice krispies! He's such a good helper. Maybe he'll be a five star chef some day!

The finished product!!!

Santa Claus

We visited Santa on a whim yesterday while we were at the mall. From far away, Dylan didn't seem to scared...he was even HoHoHo'ing. But, up close was a whole different story. The only way they got him to look in the direction of the camera was by bribing him with an Elmo. He's actually sitting on my lap...they were able to crop me out of the picture. I wonder what is so scary about Santa. The Easter Bunny, I understand, but Santa? Maybe next year we'll get a good smile...

School Picture

Before we took a break from school, Dylan participated in picture day! He's so sweet!

Thanksgiving Cont...

After softball we headed out to the Haarmann Thanksgiving! Here are some pictures of Olivia & Dylan with Indian and Pilgrim hats. Aren't they so sweet???

Finally, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Beckers and Williams on Saturday. Here's a picture of Dylan and I after we ate on Saturday.

Thanksgiving!

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving! This year we started at Wick's house. After we ate, everyone played a game of softball! Here is Dylan and Scott up to bat! Dylan loved playing!

Here he is playing second base with Scott.

After awhile he got bored, so he left the field! Here is waiving to me right before he tackled me! He's such a boy!

It's been so long!

It's been awhile since I updated the blog...I guess I've been busy! Here's a few random pictures of my little man. Here he is sitting in G-Pa's work van. He wasn't too happy about it.

Here he is visiting with his friends, Cole & Ellie.

Here he is playing with one of his new friends, Ava. They were both so excited about the candy they scored!

After all that playing it was time for bed! Doesn't that look like the most comfortable sleeping position ever? Shoes and all!

Wii Wii Wii Wii Wii

As soon as Scott gets home, Dylan runs for the Wii remote, and repeats the word Wii until Scott plays with him. He loves it. It's so cute to watch him play. Secretly, Scott is playing and Dylan is just doing the motions, but Dylan doesn't know that! This clip is kind of long (36 seconds) but it shows how a typical point goes with the two of them playing tennis. Dylan plays so hard he has to take a drink break. He also celebrates in the middle of the match when Scott says "Good Job!" It's just too cute.

21 Months!

So, being the crazy picture lady that I am, we had Dylan's 21 month picture taken earlier this month. While we were at it, we did a family picture as well. Dylan didn't really want to cooperate very well, but we still managed to get a couple of pictures. Here's the family pic...
And here is a picture of Dylan. I love it because it is classic Dylan...hanging on to mom, pretzel in his mouth (look closely at his teeth for pretzel chunks!), and a tear in his eye (He's really good at throwing fits!)!

Happy Birthday to Taylor and Tyson!

What a fun day!

Today Taylor turns 2! She is the daughter of my friend that lives in Canada! Hope you are having a great day!

Also, this morning Tyson O'Neil Greiner was born! One of the girls I grew up with, Liz, and her husband, Anthony, had their baby boy this morning! Everyone is doing well! We're so excited for the new family! Congrats!

At the Park

Since we're having such great weather, and I have a little free time on my hands, I decided to take Dylan to the park. He ran right to the swings! I think he could have stayed on the swings all day if I let him. I love how blue his eyes look with all that blue surrounding him.
We eventually headed to other parts of the playground. Here he is on a bridge connecting one slide to another. He thought it was so funny to put his head between the bars and yell for me.
I wanted to get some cute pictures of Dylan playing in the leaves. I brought a ball to bribe him with. Instead of cute pictures of him playing in the leaves, I got cute pictures of him playing with the ball. I think the other moms at the park were irritated, b/c all their kids wanted to play with the ball as well! What is it with kids and playing ball?
Serious soccer player in training.

Happy Late Halloween!

Dylan had a fun Halloween! They had a class party at daycare. Here he is wearing his pumpkin shirt, all hyped up on sugar. Snack time was a brownie, a big orange cupcake, and apple slices with caramel! Talk about crazy. All the kids were crazy!

Here's Dylan with the neighbor girls, LeaLa (the fairy) and Hunter (Snow White). LeaLa is a couple months older, and Hunter is about 5 months younger. It's fun to watch them interact. They seem to entertain each other! We discovered that the two older ones have definitely mastered the word "Mine!"
Here's my monkey eating some M&M's!

Brownies!!!

We made some brownies tonight for Dylan's Halloween Party tomorrow at school. He was so excited to help me poor the stuff in the bowl and stir it up. He was even more excited when he discovered the age old tradition of licking the spoon! He is so my child!

Carving Pumpkins!!!

Today Kassi and Josh came over to carve pumpkins. Dylan helped a little bit, but wasn't too big on the idea of getting his hands dirty...so instead he played in the dirt. Makes a lot of sense, huh? He helped long enough to get some cute pictures though!

The finished products. Josh and Scott said our pumpkins were very generic...I think they are traditional!

Practicing being a big brother...

No, I'm not pregnant...but someday I hope to have a little brother or sister for Dylan. He got to practice being a big brother this weekend, when Gray was staying with us. Here's Dylan apologizing to Gray after he chucked a Lego at Gray's head. He has to apologize now in order to get out of time out.
Here's Dylan helping me feed Gray his bottle.

Boo at the Zoo

My friend Nikki was in town with her son Gray, who is 6 months old. I thought it would be fun to go to Boo at the Zoo. They had trick or treating trails where we got lots of candy! Then we walked around looking at the animals. The weather ended up being great! Here's the family after we went trick or treating. Dylan is a tired monkey. Gray is a smiley monster.
Who let that monkey roam free in the zoo?
The mandatory penguin statue picture. He was petting the fake penguin.
