Magic House!

I have a love hate relationship with this place.  I love it because the boys always have the best time.  They don't even know they are learning!  I hate it though, because it is so easy to lose sight of these crazy kids!  Rockwood's Early Childhood Education program had an evening at the Magic house, so we decided to go.  I figured it wouldn't be quite as busy as when it was open to the public.  It was still pretty busy, but not crazy busy.  :)  The boys had a blast.  Dylan was working on his balancing skills.
 Super Smiles!
This is the first time that Jackson climbed all the way up to the top of the beanstalk!  He's getting so brave!  He makes a cute football player too.  (I'm sure all the guys want their mom's to say they are 'cute' football players, right?  LOL)
Trevor was in little boy heaven!  Who knew there were so many activities you could do with balls!  Trevor is obsessed with balls, and had an absolute blast!

First day of school!

Jackson started his last year of preschool at Bowles.  This year he is doing morning preschool at Bowles, with some extra speech help (woo hoo!) and then heading to daycare for the afternoon.  He's so excited for a new year, and to see Ms. Jo Anne!  He's so lucky to have had such a great teacher for 3 years now!

Dylan is starting 2nd grade - How is that possible?  He said he wasn't nervous because it's just like kindergarten and 1st grade, but with a different teacher.  I think I was more nervous than he was!  I'm so proud of the young man he is becoming!
And yet, he is still so silly!

Colin is Baptized!

Our good friends, the Pfeuffers, celebrated the baptism of their youngest, Colin.  Scott was honored to be Colin's Godfather!  Congratulations sweet Colin.

 BFFs
And just because he's so cute.  Jackson was practicing his scare face so he could scare Dylan's gym teacher, Mrs. McCarty!  Watch out!

Flowers

I love taking pictures of flowers!  I wish I knew more about gardening, so I could plant some more.  Most of these are from pots that I have, because I don't know where to plant them in my actual garden!

Sweet Jackson

This guy must be having a fantastic summer.  We went out to lunch to celebrate my brother's birthday and he fell asleep at the table!  He's so sweet.  :)

Snooze at the Zoo!

Dylan and I camped out at the zoo last night with some of the boys from cub scouts.  It was so fun!  We started out with an evening walk around the zoo, enjoyed some crafts and games, and then did a night hike around the zoo.  It was fun to see some of the nocturnal animals in action!  The theme was learning to communicate like animals.  Here, Reese and Dylan are communicating like painted dogs.  They use their shoulders to push others around as a way of communicating.
After the night hike, we went to bed.  Under the stars.  No tent or anything.  It was kind of cool.  My only complaint is that we were right next to hwy 40 - and the traffic was loud.  Those semi trucks sure know how to party all night long!  Dylan didn't seem to mind though - he was completely out!
In the morning, they woke us up with the sunrise.  (Who are we kidding, I was already awake.)  We packed up our gear, had a quick breakfast, then headed out for a morning walk around the zoo.  All three walks were given by the camp instructors so they knew which animals would be out, where to go and they taught us so much!  They did great at catering to 7 year old boys too.  For example, did you know that elephants eat as much grass as 4 seven year old boys combined, and poop about as much as 2 seven year old boys combined?  Also, snapping turtles can stay under water so long because they can also breath through their butt.  Man, the boys were eating it up.  :)

The boys from Dylan's pack.  We got to pet the sting rays in the morning too!

Somehow these guys talked us into buying them shark teeth.  They were all so excited!
Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone!  They do it for girl scouts too!  I'm looking forward to doing it in a few years with Jackson, and then with Trevor!
