Pumpkins and Power Rangers!

The boys had fun carving their pumpkins.  I let them pick out their own designs.  I was a little sad that I didn't have a real 'jack-o-lantern' but we had some pretty cool bats and a fabulous superman design!  Jackson wasn't so sure about cleaning out the 'goop' at first, but then once he saw Dylan digging in, he decided to give it another try.  He was never thrilled if any of the pumpkin touched his skin, but he was happy to dig out some goop with a spoon.  :)

The finished products!

My cute power rangers on Halloween night!
After showing me their moves, I finally got some real smiles from them.  :)
Once again, after trick or treating, the boys had just as much handing out the candy to other kids.  We even had a group of kids that sang a Christmas song for us!  They weren't in Christmas costumes, so it was a little strange, but I guess they chose that over a joke.  It worked, I gave them extra candy.  :)
We hope everyone had a fun, safe and Happy Halloween!

Leaves!

We had a fun fall evening hanging out at Mimi and Gpa's house.  Gpa made sure there was a nice big pile of leaves for all the kids to play in.  And the kids made sure that Gpa's nice big pile of leaves was spread out all over the yard before they went home!  They had a blast!

Pre Halloween Fun!

Saturday was a busy day for us!  We started out the evening at the annual Brueckmann Halloween bash!  It's always lots of fun to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes!
There's always fun games for the kids to do as well.  This one was a real hit...doughnuts are always a hit!  You had to try to eat the doughnut off the fork without using your hands!  Turns out, Jackson's a bit of a cheater!  Never get in the way of the Gold Power Ranger when it comes to his doughnuts!
Dylan did a good job though!
Wade, Wes, Maddie, Dylan and Jackson.
After the Brueckmann's party we went Trunk or Treating at St. Paul's.  We met Dylan's friend, Grant the duck hunter, there.  We've done the Trunk or Treating for a few years now, but it extra fun this year to watch Dylan interact with all the kids that he goes to school with!  The boys don't even say hi to each other, they just start sword fighting, or karate kicking each other.  I guess that's their own language!
Jackson caught on to the idea VERY quickly and had a blast.  As soon as we were done though, he kept asking, "Go?"  We had one tired and cold power ranger on our hands!
 Boys being silly!

Captain Jackson! ARRRRGH

ARRRGH!  Captain Jackson had a great time with friends and family at his pirate party!  The kids came in a kids and left as PIRATES!  We had a super fun treasure hunt where the kids followed a map and some clues to gather gear to make them a pirate.  They got hats, eye patches, a telescope, a sword & finally a treasure!   Jackson woke up to a bunch of balloons in his room on party day.  This is a fun tradition that we've started for birthday mornings (or the morning of your party!)
I MAY have gotten a little carried away with some of my decorations.  I blame pinterest.  :)  I have rolos and Hershey's Nuggets candy for 'Fools Gold, swedish fish for 'Fish' and Pixie Sticks as Pixie Dust.  (every pirate has a pixie fairy, right?)

Final stop of Treasure Hunt.  The cooler had an X on it.  X Marks the spot for our Treasure!
Check out all these cute Pirates!   Of course, the birthday boy wanted no part of the hat or the eye patch!
Blowing out his candles and getting kisses from Mommy!
Mom and Dad with Captain Jackson!
It was so nice out today, that we even got to play outside!  These pirates are all going to sleep well tonight!
Too cute.  Loving Jackson's new cheese smile.  :)
Just cute of Olivia and Dylan.
Gpa and Mimi with the Birthday Boy!
Mama, Papa, Jackson and Gpa, all dressed up for the party!  Gpa has a parrot on his shoulder, but it got cut off in the picture.
 Haarmann Pirates!  Arrrgh!
Captain Jackson and all his LOOT!  We are so thankful!

  Captain Jackson!
Some of the 'Men' hanging out in the unfinished basement.  Even though the basement isn't finished, the BIG SCREEN has been hung with care and the guys escaped the children to watch the football game!  Nice furniture, huh???!!!
Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!  We had a GREAT time.  Captain Jackson is one tired PIRATE!

Firehouse!

On Saturday we headed up to the Saline Valley (which is really in Fenton) Firestation Open House.  We had a great time counting firetrucks (there were 8!), going for a ride in a fire truck and spraying water from a fire hose!

 Cool shot of flag.

 Fire truck rides!
