Camping!

This past weekend we went camping at Rend Lake with our friends, The Brueckmann's. It's a beautiful lake and I look forward to going back. I was nervous about the boys sleeping in a tent, but they did great! Some highlights include beautiful trees (seriously I was obsessed with the trees), a playground right next to the campground, making s'mores by the campfire, a fabulous beach and great friends! Here's Dylan doing a little dance in the rain. There was a light rain for about 20 minutes on Saturday afternoon. Definitely didn't dampen our spirits!

There are no blackout shades on the tent, so when the sun came up, so did Jackson's eyelids! But, who can resist this face...even at 5:45 AM.Playground time! The slide was our favorite!
Finally we hit the beach! Scott built this little pool for the boys. Dylan kept calling it a bathtub. That is one muddy/sandy bathtub. Check out where Dylan is! That's right...in the water, all by himself, with no death grip on someone! That is a MAJOR improvement for Dylan. He's usually a little timid in the water. He played by himself in the water the whole time we were there. I am so proud of him!

The Lake!

We've had so much fun at the lake so far this year. Sorry for all the pictures, but they are all so cute! (and really, I could have easily posted at least 20 more!) Dylan is SO into fishing this year, and Jackson is just taking everything in. We're so lucky to have the opportunity to go to the lake so much and make such great memories. :)

At first Dylan was so excited to 'cut up the fishes and cook them for dinner.' But, after Scott started he had a change of heart. He had lots of questions. For example "How do the fishes go pee pee if they don't have a wee wee?" He was also surprised to see the "worms" inside the fish. Scott told him that was the fish guts and then Dylan said "I don't like to cut anymore fishies." He is looking forward to his fish dinner though!
